In a devastating blow to India’s aviation sector, Air India Flight AI171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed within minutes of takeoff on June 12, 2025, killing at least 30 people. The aircraft was carrying 242 individuals, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.

This is the first-ever fatal crash involving a Boeing 787 Dreamliner and marks one of India’s worst aviation disasters in the last two decades.
