The Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development is scheduled to launch guidelines for the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) 3.0 on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 6:30 pm.
The five-year programme will cover 2026 to 2031 and is planned as a Central Sector Scheme with an estimated financial outlay of ₹565.50 crore. The department plans to implement it across all states and Union territories.
DILRMP 3.0 will focus on creating a GIS-enabled digital “land stack” rather than only maintaining digital records. The proposed system will integrate maps, land ownership details, property registration and court cases through an interoperable digital ecosystem.
The forthcoming guidelines will emphasise ease of living and ease of doing business. They will also promote secure, API-based integration of land-related services, with the stated aim of reducing the need for citizens to make repeated visits to government offices.
Progress under the programme will be monitored in real time through an upgraded DILRMP management information system dashboard, according to the source material.
