Dhanush Politics Buzz: DMK Takes Dig at Aadhav Arjuna Over Possible Political Switch
Chennai: Speculation over actor Dhanush's possible entry into Tamil Nadu politics has triggered a fresh political exchange, with the ruling DMK taking aim at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) strategist Aadhav Arjuna.DMK organisational secretary R.S. Bharathi claimed that Arjuna could be the first political leader to move towards Dhanush if the actor decides to launch his own political party.
Bharathi made the remarks while criticising Arjuna's political journey and his association with TVK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. He referred to Arjuna's earlier association with the DMK and VCK before he joined TVK.
DMK's Remark on Aadhav Arjuna and Dhanush
Addressing a public event, Bharathi took a swipe at Arjuna over his movement between different political organisations.Referring to the ongoing speculation about Dhanush entering politics, Bharathi said that if the actor were to start a political party, Arjuna would be among the first to join it.
Bharathi's statement was framed as a political attack rather than an announcement of any actual move by Arjuna or Dhanush.
Arjuna has previously been associated with the DMK and the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) before becoming a prominent strategist and leader associated with Vijay's TVK.
Why Dhanush's Political Entry Is Being Discussed
Dhanush has not officially announced the launch of a political party. However, his recent activities involving his fan base have renewed speculation about a possible political future. At a blood donation event in Chennai, the actor unveiled a new flag for his fan association and encouraged his supporters to move beyond film-related celebrations and focus on social welfare and community-oriented activities.
The approach has drawn comparisons with the way Vijay's fan network gradually developed into a broader political organisation before the launch of TVK.
Dhanush has also been involved in philanthropic activities, including support for educational initiatives. While these activities have been presented as social work rather than political mobilisation, they have fuelled discussion about whether the actor could eventually enter electoral politics.
Aadhav Arjuna's Role in TVK
Aadhav Arjuna is considered one of the prominent political strategists associated with Vijay and TVK.His political journey has itself attracted attention. Before joining TVK, he had associations with the DMK and VCK. His comments on Tamil Nadu politics and his role within TVK have made him a frequent target of criticism from rival parties.
Bharathi used this political history to question Arjuna's loyalty to different political organisations and suggested that he could change sides again if Dhanush enters politics.
However, there is currently no confirmation that Aadhav Arjuna plans to leave TVK or join any political organisation led by Dhanush. Bharathi's statement should therefore be viewed as a political remark rather than evidence of an impending switch.
Dhanush Has Not Announced a Political Party
Despite growing speculation, Dhanush has not announced the formation of a political party or confirmed that he intends to contest elections. The actor's recent public activities have nevertheless generated considerable interest because of the scale of his fan following and his increasing emphasis on social service.
His supporters have been encouraged to organise themselves around community initiatives, which has naturally led to comparisons with the political journey previously followed by Vijay.
For now, however, Dhanush's political entry remains speculation rather than a confirmed development.
Tamil Nadu Politics Gets Another Star Power Angle
Tamil Nadu politics already has a major cinema-to-politics story in Vijay, whose TVK has become a significant political force in the state.Against that backdrop, speculation about another major Tamil actor entering politics is attracting attention from political parties and supporters.
The latest remarks by R.S. Bharathi have added a new angle to the discussion by bringing Aadhav Arjuna into the conversation and suggesting that he could potentially move with Dhanush if the actor forms a political outfit.
Whether that prediction has any political basis remains to be seen. For now, there has been no official announcement from Dhanush about launching a party, and there is no indication from Arjuna that he intends to leave TVK.
The episode nevertheless shows how quickly speculation surrounding a popular actor's political ambitions can become part of Tamil Nadu's wider political debate.
