Wedding planner Priya Maganti has described how privacy controls, phone restrictions and contingency planning have become central to organising high-profile weddings. Speaking to The Indian Express, Maganti discussed the operational demands involved in the wedding of Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, as well as the planning required for P V Sindhu’s ceremony.
The wedding of Mandanna and Deverakonda was planned for more than 10 months, according to Maganti. The preparation included a clear requirement that information about the wedding and images from the celebrations remain private.
Privacy measures at the wedding
Guests were asked to limit the information they shared and to delay posting pictures from the events. Phones were also covered or restricted during the wedding functions, part of a broader effort to control how details and photographs circulated.The measures reflect the additional planning challenges associated with public figures, whose weddings can attract significant attention. For the planners, privacy was not treated as a separate consideration but as part of the event’s operating plan.
Maganti said celebrity weddings require extensive research, checks and backup plans because of the public profile of the people involved. That preparation is intended to account for the heightened scrutiny surrounding the event and the need to manage multiple operational details without compromising the couple’s plans.
Planning around P V Sindhu’s schedule
Sindhu’s wedding planning presented a different set of demands. Maganti said the badminton player continued training and competing during the planning process, requiring preparations to be organised around her professional commitments.The ceremony was also shaped around Sindhu’s preferred bridal vision. Her aisle walk was rehearsed with that vision in mind, showing how the planning extended beyond logistics to the details of how she wanted the ceremony to unfold.
Maganti’s account places the emphasis on customisation as well as control. While privacy protocols were a major feature of the Mandanna-Deverakonda wedding planning, Sindhu’s ceremony required the team to work around an active training and competition schedule and to translate her preferences into the event itself.
A broader role for wedding planners
The examples point to a wider role for planners working on celebrity weddings. Their responsibilities can include protecting information, coordinating guest behaviour, limiting phone use, checking arrangements and preparing alternatives when plans need to change.At the same time, the ceremonies still have to reflect the people at their centre.
