The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the list of 135 candidates whose category was provisionally changed from Indian to Non-Resident Indian (NRI) for NEET UG 2026 Round 2 counselling. The list was published after scrutiny of the documents submitted by candidates.

The update applies to the 2026-27 undergraduate medical counselling process and was issued ahead of the Round 2 provisional seat allotment result. Candidates included in the list will now be considered under the NRI category for the relevant counselling process, subject to the requirements set by MCC.

Round 2 allotment schedule

The provisional Round 2 seat allotment result is scheduled to be released on September 11. Candidates who receive seats will be required to complete reporting and joining at their allotted colleges between September 12 and September 18.

The NRI eligibility list is intended to clarify the category status of the candidates before seat allotment. The 135 category changes are described as provisional, meaning candidates must still meet the document and reporting requirements linked to their admission.

Candidates must produce their original documents when reporting at the allotted college. MCC has warned that admissions may be cancelled if the required original documents are not presented during the reporting process.

Original documents required at reporting

The document requirement applies to candidates whose category has been changed from Indian to NRI as well as the other reporting requirements for the allotted seat. Candidates will need to follow the instructions issued by the allotted institution and complete joining within the scheduled reporting window.

The publication of the list allows candidates to check whether their requested category conversion has been included before the Round 2 allotment result. However, inclusion in the provisional list does not remove the obligation to provide original documents at the college.

The next key step in the process is the release of the provisional seat allotment result on September 11. Candidates allotted seats in Round 2 will then have from September 12 to 18 to report and join, with admission remaining subject to verification of the required documents.
