Images capturing Oasis’s reunion tour and Charli XCX’s appearance at Glastonbury are among the nominees for the 2026 Abbey Road Music Photography Awards.
The shortlist features 40 finalists across eight categories, selected from more than 24,500 submissions from 42 countries.
One nominated image shows Liam Gallagher facing Oasis fans at Wembley. Another captures Charli XCX burning a Brat flag at Glastonbury, signalling the end of the era, and is shortlisted for music moment of the year.
Photographs featuring Kendrick Lamar, Fontaines DC, Tame Impala and Sombr are also included. FKA Twigs appears in the judges’ awards, with a photograph showing her and her dancers performing a collective scream at LadyLand Festival in Brooklyn.
The finalist photographs will be displayed in the LED tunnel at Outernet London from 8 to 14 September. Five images selected for the fan-voted music moment of the year award will also be included in the exhibition. Visitors can vote online or in person.
The winners are due to be announced at a ceremony at Abbey Road Studios on 24 September. This year’s guest category celebrates 50 years of punk.
British photographer and director Rankin, the awards’ head judge, said 2026 felt like “the strongest year yet”, describing the entries as technically accomplished and full of “energy, emotion and a real point of view”.
The judging panel also includes Chic guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers and Brit Award-winning singer Raye. Photographers Roberta Bayley and Masayoshi Sukita are due to receive special recognition at the ceremony.
