BBC football pundit Troy Deeney has selected his Premier League team of the week, featuring players from six clubs.
David Raya, Ezri Konsa, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz are included from Arsenal, while Liverpool contribute Ronald Araujo, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak.
Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell also makes the team after scoring twice from left-back. Deeney described Mitchell as “Mr Consistent” and said he is not spoken about enough.
Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes is selected after scoring, with Deeney praising his finish and describing him as a player who has been “fantastic”.
Fulham midfielder Cesar Palacios and Brentford’s Vitaly Janelt complete the outfield selections. Deeney said both players are solid and important, even if they do not always attract attention during matches.
Deeney also praised Raya for producing important saves and called Odegaard a “captain, leader and a massive winner”. He described Havertz as Arsenal’s best striker and best finisher.
David Moyes is Deeney’s manager of the week. The former Everton manager was selected after, according to Deeney, losing attacking options following a bad transfer window but still delivering a result.
